No two visits are ever the same with your therapy dog. You can be going to the same healthcare or educational facility for years and it is never the same. One time Teddy was sitting on my lap with several people around us. One gentleman however was further away and did not want to engage with us. But he kept looking Teddy’s way. He looked and looked and Teddy turned in his direction every time. Teddy is older and very tiny but somehow he knew this man needed him to look his way. After a while a small, very small smile appeared on the man’s face and Teddy knew his job was done. If all we got this day was a brief smile, it was well worth the time spent waiting.
