GME loves the Love Dogs
The Graduate Medical Education program welcomes Pet Partnes of Las vegas monthly to meet with the resident doctors. We really enjoy these de-stressing events and so many of the doctors know us from other places. They may have met us while in college or the Kerkorian School of Medicine. They collect the trading cards. And one woman told me she knew us from elementary school all those years ago! This brief break in their hectic day is appreciated and our teams love meeting w

Very special dogs
Liza is so happy to have two dogs preparing to become Pet Partners therapy dogs. You remember Liza’s Brittany, the wonderful tripod? Everyone loved Brittany and are so excited to have Liza back with new pups. Baci is a bully mix and just the most focused dog ever. Liza is training with her now and will be her next therapy dog. And Bohdi is a tiny dog with just two legs and the plan is then to work with Bodhi next to be evaluated. We can imagine how popular he will be. Let’s w

A very special visit
We were invited to meet with some military personnel for a wellness event and it was amazing. We brought five therapy dog teams to visit with a very select group of staff and airmen and it was such a worthwhile few hours. Thank you to Kristy and Pixie. Bob and Dexter, Jim and Dude, Gabby and Xoco and Buddy for bringing such joy and comfort to those who do so much for all of us. We look forward to returning for regular visits and know we made a difference today.

SAFY welcomes the therapy dogs
The holiday party for SAFY (Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth) was amazing. When we arrived they had a snow machine outside and we all felt very festive! We brought five therapy dogs and the children were excited to see them. So with tons of music and dancing and games and balloon making and food, the dogs were the greatest hit. We spread out in several rooms and even had one dog Pancake greeting everyone. Dude kept Santa company and Dexter, Birdie and Charlie w

Santa party at Southern Hills Hospital
Southern Hills Hospital hosts a holiday party with Santa and today was the most fun. The party is for employees and their families as well as for the public. Everyone had a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus and the children got to play games and do crafts and have lots of fun snacks. We had four Pet partners therapy dogs there to greet the guests and entertain them while they waited their turn for photographs. Charlie hung out on the welcome table, Pax greeted everyone at the d

UNLV School of Dental Medicine welcomes us back
The UNLV School of Dental Medicine started working with us over ten years ago. We love seeing the students, especially around exam time. We meet in a lounge area and so many students find a few minutes to pop in for a cuddle and chat. This time we had Dude, Pixie, Charlie and Xoco. This was the perfect mix of therapy dogs. We look forward to our monthly visits and bringing a wide variety of pets to meet them. They can’t wait to meet a therapy cat or horse!

Another visit to Caesars Palace
We love our Employee Wellness visits and get to meet so many people in so many different places. Yesterday we visited with staff members at Caesars Palace and it was once again a wonderful experience. The last time we spent a few hours during the evening but this time we went mid-day so we saw many more people. They came over during lunch breaks and the room filled up pretty quickly. We had six therapy dogs with us and everyone made it a point to greet each one. From the mo

Catholic Charities welcomes the therapy dogs
Some of our favorite visits are at Catholic Charities. Yesterday Charlie and Pixie had the best time meeting with staff and clients. When I arrived with Charlie someone was waiting outside already as they knew the dogs were coming. I heard a happy “Charlie is here!” and we spent some private time together before we went in. This always makes us so proud when people remember specific pets. Last time we had different dogs visiting so they love the variety but to remember one in

Hot Cocoa with Cinnamon
Today Nevada State University hosted their first visit with Cinnamon, a mini therapy horse. It was the most amazing event. The Library created such an outstanding experience called Hot Cocoa with Cinnamon! They put up a tent and served hot chocolate and over two hundred students lined up to meet Cinnamon. The event was held outside the library building and it was a bit chilly but when they hugged this beautiful little horse, they warmed up! It was such a joyful time during

UNLV LIED LIBRARY IS ALWAYS SPECIAL
We are in our 13 th year visiting with students at UNLV in Lied Library and it gets more exciting each time. This visit was right before the third anniversary of the active shooter situation so many students came to see us because they were there as we were during the lockdown. But we had even more freshman and sophomores who are new to our teams and that was great fun for them. We had seven therapy dogs in the room and the students went from one to another, meeting them and

Bishop Gorman welcomes Pet Partners
We had the pleasure of visiting with the Teen Empowerment Club at Bishop Gorman High School and it was such a wonderful visit. We were part of a presentation given by one of our very own volunteers Casey Bone, a Gorman Freshman. She explained to the students who we are, what we do and the importance of animal assisted therapy. Then the fun began! So many students, teachers, administration came to pet Birdie and Charlie. Thank you for this special visit and we look forward to

Happy Gotcha Day Charlie
Help me celebrate Charlie’s Gotcha Day. I adopted Charlie four years ago the day after Thanksgiving. It was actually November 27, 2021 but I consider his Gotcha Day tomorrow. He was incredibly neglected and in poor condition. He was so matted I could not tell what kind of dog he was but something about this little dog just reeled me in. He was in great need of medical care and could not even come home with me to meet my other dogs at the time (Benny and Hildie.) But after spe

Year end visit at Kerkorian School of Medicine
We had our last visit of the year with the medical students at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. We host monthly visits as part of their Wellness program and began this partnership when it was just a thought in everyone’s minds. In 2016 we were asked if we would consider going to the new medical school they were building. Of course we said yes and our first visit was in 2017 when they were accepting their first class and using a small area of the Dental School. Ever since

Back to CSN Cheyenne Campus
The third and final CSN campus (North Cheyenne) met three therapy teams today and we had our greatest turnout. The students at all the CSN campuses just love the Love Dogs and tell everyone they must stop by to meet us. Birdie was in rare form and actually flung herself in a student’s lap upside down! Dexter was always smiling as usual. And Buddy could not find a lap he didn’t want to sit in. We want to thank our coordinators for always making us feel so welcome on each campu

CSN Henderson welcomes the therapy dogs
The college exam season is upon us and we are so busy. We are the therapy teams for all the colleges in Vegas and just spent time with students at College of Southern Nevada (CSN) at the Henderson Campus. Every day over the next few weeks we are somewhere helping students de-stress at such a challenging time. Thank you to Birdie, Daisy and Charlie for kicking off the season so beautifully.

Buddy is a natural
Buddy is such a precious dog. He is probably eleven years old now and loves nothing more than being a therapy dog. When he was first introduced to me via text I had no idea he would be such a natural. He is so calm and curious and loves everyone he meets. He is especially sensitive to the teenagers we work with. These are his favorite people and I truly think he knows they are just like him. Misunderstood, struggling at times to fit in and taking life one day at a time.

Back to Boyd Law School
We always enjoy our wellness visits at UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. Today was especially fun. We had Birdie, Dexter and Buddy and more students came to see us than ever before. We meet in their Student Lounge and Birdie loves to be up on a pedestal and is always ready for a belly rub. Dexter prefers to be in his own area by the sofas so he can spread out. Buddy hangs in his space near the door so he sees everyone coming in and walks around and loves to be cuddled. Whi
