Southwest Medical Hospice celebrates Benny
Yesterday was a very special day. Southwest Medical Hospice hosted their annual Staff and Volunteer Meeting. They asked if we could have a few Pet Partners therapy teams there to greet the guests as they arrived for the meeting. Benny made his final appearance as he was their hospice visiting dog and he is now himself a Quality of Life / Hospice Dog. He was even recognized as a Hospice Hero last year. Everyone wanted to thank him for his years of working with hospice. He was all fluffed up and did enjoy the Meet & Greet. But he was tired and everyone now learned of his situation. I think the hospice nurses were particularly kind with him and understood that each day is so precious now. Then he came in with me to the meeting. And we were surprised with a beautiful recap of his time volunteering with them. We were presented with a lovely award and everyone wanted to congratulate him and get one more Benny Hug.
Thank you to Jeanne and Ace and Stephanie and Lucy for being there for everyone to enjoy. And thank you to Kathleen for helping us and for loving Benny.
